Us is the ordinary story of each one of us. The journey of living as a Human in a world that celebrates individualism and yet where you can’t live alone. A Man comes to the world.
Following his essence, he tries to fit into a community of men and women. They are conflicted by their gender opposition while they are necessary to each other.
This man is struggling and facing every difficulty that any man can find trying to find his place into society.
Fear for his differences, rejection coming from not understanding his background, fascination for his uniqueness, judgement over his alleged actions, opinions or beliefs.
The group will try to put him down at first.
But, he is trying his best to be like them, act like them. And then, he realises along the way that his differences are his asset.
In this conflict between being accepted for what he his and this desperate need to be recognized by a group, that man choose to reflect love not matter what. To give an universal answer to any attack.
And from there, comes hope. Hope for him, for the group and the future.
Mustapha Es Sabah AKA Steph - Choreographer & Director :
Steph started dancing by the age of 20, in a room, in Salé, Morocco, fascinated by choreographies that he ended up watching on YouTube. Then, without any real goal besides wanting to share stories without words, he posted some of his combos on social media. That’s how he got noticed for the first time by professionals.
From dancing in a room to dancing in studios, he went from self-taught dancing to actual training.
Step by step, throughout the past 7 years, he has been lucky enough to train with teachers and choreographers in Morocco and abroad, trained in France, Netherlands.
Steph was invited for the Hip Hop Unite event in Paris and the Netherlands as a member of the Moroccan National Team where his partner and him were ranked first in the duo category.
Steph swiftly learned how to share his personal interpretation with people and started to teach urban dance in a few studios in Casablanca and Rabat, and was soon featured in commercials and videos like Louis Tomlinson’s, and shows with Gims or Lartiste, to name a few.
