Movement Film Festival

Project Home is excited to present our second annual movement film festival, "HOMESCREEN.” The festival will consist of a film contest and panel, welcoming all identities, languages, and movement backgrounds. We hope to provide a platform for artists to engage, connect, and grow through collaboration and conversation.

  • Dance/Choreography must be made for film, Homescreen will not accept live stage performances.
  • Runtime for films will not exceed 15 minutes
  • Submissions must be accompanied by the applicable submission fee PER ENTRY and a completed online entry form.
  • Films must be available for screening during the HomeScreen Film Festival, January 22-23, 2022.
  • The selected entities will be contacted via email and will be given a period of seven days to provide the film in the requested format
  • All selected applications authorize Project Home to use and edit submitted videos, text, stills and their related elements at no cost for marketing and promo material.
  • Films must be the original work of the applicants.
  • If language materials are used in the film, please provide subtitles in English


  • Cinematography - The motion of the film is captured with quality.
  • Creativity and Originality - The film is unique and distinguishing.
  • Thematic Strength - The plot, concept, or theme of the film is concise and well developed.
  • Movement/Choreography - Movement is thoughtful, intentional and lends itself to the theme.
  • Edit - Film shows great consideration for organization of shots.

Will Homescreen accept live stage performances?

Dance/Choreography must be made for film. Homescreen will not accept live stage performances.

What is the max runtime for films?

All work submitted must be no longer than 5 minutes for Short Film / 15 minutes for Long Film / 8 minutes for the Home category. Please don’t be discouraged from submitting your film if it surpasses the video time limits. We have some flexibility within these time constraints and would love to see your work.

How many films can I submit?

Applicants can submit no more than 2 films.

What if I’m submitting a video with music that’s not mine?

Please credit the artist whose work is featured and whenever possible receive consent from an artist or artists whose work you will be using.

Where can I see the previous years Homescreen films?

Due to ownership rights we don't host our registrants films beyond the festival date, however we do list all the official selection and winning films, their synopsis, credits, and images in our library. You can see the 2021 Homescreen here.
